Welcome to PathTrace Genealogy Investigations

At PathTrace Genealogy, we specialize in unraveling the mysteries of the past through meticulous research and intuitive analysis. Whether your ancestors arrived through Ellis Island or spoke only in hushed family whispers, we are here to uncover the truth.

Our team has deep expertise in Eastern European Jewish immigration, name changes, urban settlement patterns, and even elusive Irish ancestry with tangled migration paths. We've traced lineages across boroughs, continents, and centuries. We can do the same for you.

Based in New Haven, Connecticut, we proudly serve both the New York City and Boston metro areas.

Eleanor Harkness

Specializing in Eastern European and Russian Jewish immigration to the U.S. between the late 1800s and early 1900s, Eleanor reconstructs lives from fragments, a census anomaly, a bedtime story, a partial document.

Jonas Blumenthal

Jonas focuses on post-immigration diaspora movement, name changes, occupational paths, and intergenerational storytelling. A historian by training, he specializes in Yiddish source translation and U.S. city records.

We've also expanded our practice to include Irish genealogy. Many clients come to us with partial records, missing names, or vague references to counties or ports of departure. Through deep knowledge of Irish church records, famine-era departures, and cross-checking U.S. census anomalies, we can bring those hidden stories to light.
